THE PILGRIM VESSEL
THE PILGRIM VESSEL carries within it the memory of a big journey through ten European countries by car. Traveling with me and my family all the way to the Caucasus mountains in Georgia and back to Portugal, crossing borders, landscapes, and the Black Sea, it became a silent companion to our adventures, gathering stories and memories along the way, becoming alive.
Its full, rounded body and narrow opening are reminiscent of ancient pottery. Small wild rocks emerge from the surface, adding character to its irregular, earthy form.
The surface is rich with earthy tones, mineral textures, and subtle variations reminiscent of weathered stone with unique markings.
This one-of-a-kind stoneware vessel is fired to 1250°C (2282°F), celebrating the beauty of natural materials, the unpredictability of fire, and the traces that time and experience leave behind.
More than a ceramic object, it is a unique vessel of memories, shaped by hand and accompanied by the stories of distant lands.
